Intercessions for Easter Day 2007

By Mr Warwick Holden

Let us pray for the people of this world who are in need this day as we celebrate Easter
We pray for all people who give, and have given, their entire lives for others. Those who seek to help others with teaching, healing, guidance, counselling, prayers, and service to others. We remember the work of Christ during His ministry. His work, prayers, healing, and teaching.
Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer

We pray for those who have died in the service of Christ, those who have helped others, and made the sacrifice of their lives, as Christ sacrificed Himself for us.
Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer

We pray for the work of the church here at St Mark’s and Putnoe Heights and for Charlie, Joan and Sam, and for our own ministries as we live our lives in your service.
Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer

Christ, who worked for all, gave Himself for all, and died for all, help us to remember to make our own sacrifices for all our fellow men, that we might share eternal life with you.
Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer

Christ, who came to heal the sick, help us to help those who suffer in mind, body, or spirit. Give them your peace, your help, and answer our prayers for them. We remember in a moment of silence, all those who are known to us, and need our prayer at this time….
Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer

Christ, who rose from the dead on this day, hear our prayer for those who are separated from us by death. Jesus Christ is the light of the world, a light which no darkness can quench. We remember before God those who have died and light a candle to symbolise the light of Christ, which eternally shines and brings hope. We remember ….
You turn our darkness into light: in your light shall we see light.

Merciful Father,
accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
Gathering our prayers into one, let us, with confidence, say the Lord’s Prayer together.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory
For ever and ever. Amen
