Church Prayers and Intercessions

Easter 6

Intercessions for Sunday 10 May 2015 by Mrs Sam Ware

Let us pray.

Gracious God,

Rejoicing in your blessings,

trusting in your loving care for all,

we bring you our prayers for the world.

We pray for the created world:

for those who rebuild where things have been destroyed;

for those who fight hunger, poverty and disease;

for those who have power to bring change for the better and to renew hope.

Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.

We pray for our nation:

for those who have authority in our national life,

framing our laws and shaping our common life;

for those who work to keep the peace and foster mutual understanding and respect;

for those who teach, heal and care, and all who give freely of themselves in the service of others.

Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.

We pray for people in need:

those for whom life is a bitter struggle;

those whose lives are clouded by death or loss, pain or disability, discouragement or fear, shame or rejection.

May they know the warmth, the comfort and the assurance of your love.

Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.

We pray for the church, both at home and around the world, drawn on by the power of your Spirit: may all who profess your name learn to work and witness together, surrounded by the great company of heaven.

We pray for those who lead us here and at St. Mark’s: give them strength for all that they seek to be and to do.

Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Jesus Christ is the light of the World, a light which no darkness can quench. We remember before God those who have died and light a candle to symbolise the light of Christ which eternally shines and brings hope. We remember today AAA
You turn our darkness into light and in your light shall we see light.

Merciful Father :

accept these prayer for the sake of your Son our Saviour, Jesus Christ, Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer…..
