Would your church benefit from a Garden of Remembrance?
We are often visited by people seeking advice on establishing a
Garden of Remembrance in their own church. Plans
for our Garden were started in 1991 and the original costs were all met by
support from local business. The Garden transformed waste ground into
beautifully landscaped gardens and we believe that many churches could use
space around their building in this way. Unsightly and overgrown land can
attract local interest and financial support and become a resting place for
those who welcome the opportunity to lie in a Christian burial ground.
Ongoing maintenance costs are met by the burial fees which we currently
ensure are fixed at about half the cost of the local council rates. In this
way you are therefore helping families, enabling them to have a dignified
place of rest at a fraction of the commercial rates. We would be pleased to
offer advice and welcome visits from those considering providing a Garden of
Remembrance.
